I am very grateful to have shared some awesome musical experiences with Jim. Together with Chris Aaron, we had some great comping conversations in supporting ‘the lead’. It wasn’t just playing a blues form, it was dynamic blues. These live recordings were so fun, I know anyone will enjoy these semantics. -Jim Schwall & Friends, “Live from the Barn” Is just one fine example. A day gig, we set up our gear in an old tobacco drying barn on Dewey’s Farm. It was difficult to refrain from kicking up dust from foot tapping getting sucked into my laptop, but what a jam! Without rehearsal, we pulled stuff out the hat, circumnavigating blues forms and originals songs Jim or Chris wrote. Jim also joins on Chris Aaron on other live gigs we captured. On this day, Chris Sandoval played drums and cymbals, together with Lisa Bethke helping with vocals and tambourine.
Jim Schwall also collaborated with other songwriters and can be heard here in the Steel Bridge Creative foundation. Steel Bridge Radio is a free app and you will hear more than 1200 songs written at the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
